Capoeira for Beginners

Our Atlanta Capoeira school has a strong sense of community. You will get to make new friends in a positive social environment. Training capoeira is an experience that will enrich your life!

Capoeira is a fantastic workout, combining cardiovascular and strength training. It burns fat and builds muscle, flexibility and endurance while improving balance and coordination.

All beginners will be taken through the Instructional Capoeira Movement series covering the basic of Capoeira Regional. Check out the tutorial videos below.

As a beginner, you will learn the “Sequencia.” This is an 8-part sequence that consists of 17 basic offensive, defensive movements taught in a simplified form. The Sequencia was created by Mestre Bimba and is the first method of teaching Capoeira. This will allow you, the student, within a very short period of time, to apply capoeira’s rhythmic attack and defensive movements.  Check out the video below.
